The most important thing about sunglasses is not how much light is blocked, but where in the spectrum it is blocked. Not all blue light is bad: some of it keeps you awake and alert. The most harmful part is the short-wave blue 400–450 nm, which strains the eyes and disrupts the circadian rhythm.
That's why daily lenses are constructed like this:
• 400–450 nm (most harmful blue): ~98% blocked
• 400–500 nm (entire blue spectrum): ~75% blocked
• 500–570 nm (green light): only ~15% blocked
• UVA & UVB: 100% blocked
The result is a bright and natural view, with the most oppressive blue filtered out, but the green light that supports vibrancy and contrasts lets through. So the world doesn't look dark or brown, but sharp and vivid.

Das sind einfach die besten Brillen, die ich je hatte! Ich habe lange nach einer effektiven Lösung gegen schmerzende und müde Augen gesucht, aber die meisten Brillen mit speziellen Lichtfiltern sehen oft sehr langweilig und standardmäßig aus. Das Modell ILMARI im Goldrahmen von North Ray ist da auf einem ganz anderen Level. Sie sehen unglaublich stilvoll aus, sind extrem leicht und sitzen einfach perfekt.
Aber ihre wahre Superkraft sind die Linsen selbst. In meiner Arbeit als Fahrtrainer und im professionellen Motorsport sind Sehschärfe und die richtige Kontrastwahrnehmung das A und O. Diese gelben Linsen funktionieren fantastisch! Sie lindern nicht nur vollständig die Augenbelastung bei der Arbeit, sondern eignen sich auch perfekt zum Autofahren und für stundenlange Sim-Racing-Sessions. Die Sicht wird deutlich schärfer und kontrastreicher, während die Augen absolut entspannt bleiben.

Lasit tulivat nopeasti ja ovat todella kivan näköiset ja tuntuvat vähentävän aamuöistä heräilyä ja helpttavan nukahtamista. Ostin päivälasit, mutta olen käyttänyt niitä enimmäkseen vain illalla. Ainoa pieni miinus että nenätyynyt ovat vähän kovat ja istuvat mukavasti vain vähän alemmalla nenällä. Ei onneksi juurikaan haittaa käyttöä ja alan tottua siihen.

Ostin pojalleni nämä lasit aikaisemmin. Hän ei kuulemma ole enää ilman laseja näytön äärellä. Tilasin myös itselleni, koska silmäni olivat näytön jälkeen aina väsyneet ja kirvelivät. Benefits of natural blue light from the sun
Alertness and vigilance: Blue light can improve alertness and concentration. It has been used in workplaces, for example, to increase productivity.
Mood improvement: Blue light has positive effects on mood enhancement and alleviating seasonal affective disorder, especially during the winter months.
Biological rhythm: Blue light affects the body's internal clock and can help regulate sleep patterns, especially during the day.
Disadvantages of artificial blue light:
1. Sleep difficulties
Disruption of melatonin production: Blue light inhibits the production of melatonin, a hormone that regulates sleep patterns. Exposure to blue light late in the evening or at night can make it difficult to fall asleep and reduce sleep quality. This can lead to insomnia and fatigue the next day.
Disruption of the internal clock: Prolonged exposure to blue light can disrupt the body's internal clock, which can cause problems with sleep and wakefulness.
2. Eye damage
Retinal damage: Blue light, especially its shorter wavelengths (e.g., from LED lights and display screens), can cause retinal damage. Prolonged exposure can lead to the development of "blue light ischemia," which can increase the risk of eye diseases such as cataracts or macular degeneration.
Digital eye strain: Prolonged viewing of screens can lead to digital eye strain, which includes symptoms such as eye fatigue, dryness, redness, and discomfort. This can be caused by glare from blue light.

Day or night glasses?
If you want to take optimal care of your well-being and blue light prevention, we definitely recommend choosing both day and night glasses.
For blue light prevention, an orange lens used during the day might be a bit too effective as a blue light blocker. Therefore, we recommend using a yellow lens during the day, which prevents 84% of all harmful blue light.
If, on the other hand, the most important reason for using blue light glasses is to improve sleep quality and optimize your circadian rhythm, then we recommend using an orange lens in the evening. The orange lens blocks 97% of all harmful blue light and significantly helps the body achieve better and higher quality sleep.
If you want to start with only one pair of glasses and need blue light protection both during the day and in the evening, then we recommend choosing day glasses with a yellow lens. You can use the glasses from morning to evening, and as a shift worker, also during night shifts. Although the blue light protective effect of the yellow lens for evening use is not as effective as that of the orange lens, the high-quality 84% blue light protection of day glasses in the evening is still a significant aid towards better sleep.
For hobbies, as an accessory, when driving, for sunglasses, and in other activities, you can use yellow and orange lenses entirely according to your own preferences! Through both lenses, the world looks wonderfully bright and clear! If you wear prescription glasses, we recommend our clip-on lenses that are easily attached over your glasses. All our clip-on lenses fit amazingly well over various styles of eyeglasses.

You can try on different glass models by ordering a Home Try-On Kit! It's easy and fun to try on all our models at your leisure at home.
